Fall 2007 Admitted Transfer Students*

Step 1–Accept Your Offer of Admission NOW

Congratulations on being admitted to San Diego State University! To accept your offer of admission and reserve your place in the fall 2007 class, all of the following items must be submitted to the SDSU Office of Admissions no later than Tuesday, May 1, 2007. If you were admitted after June 15, the following items are due no later than Wednesday, August 1, 2007.

  1. Submit the Intent to Enroll $250 deposit in your SDSU WebPortal. The deposit is non-refundable, and can be made electronically through the SDSU WebPortal. This deposit will apply toward your fall registration fees. Priority for on-campus housing will be based on the date you submit the Intent to Enroll $250 deposit. Therefore the sooner you submit the Intent deposit, the greater chance of receiving on-campus housing and your residence hall preference.
  2. Submit official copies of the following documents (please read the Instructions for Transcripts below carefully for details):
    • You must submit transcripts from all colleges you attended as early as possible. Electronic transcripts are required from Grossmont College, Cuyuamaca College, San Diego Mesa College, Miramar College, City Colleges, or Southwestern Community College. Paper copies of transcripts from these community colleges will NOT be accepted.
    • Official high school transcripts.
    • Score reports for all Advanced Placement exams you have taken should be sent electronically to SDSU. For additional information, see the College Board Tests AP Web site.
    • Transcripts from all International Baccalaureate credit (if applicable).

What’s the rush? Why do I need to submit transcripts as early as possible?

It can take months to process your transcripts and officially admit you. The sooner you send in your transcripts by the deadline, the sooner you will begin receiving registration information and final admission details.

Instructions for Community College Transcripts

You must send official transcripts for all schools, including work completed for spring 2007 by Tuesday, May 1, 2007 (August 1, 2007 for late admits). Do not wait for spring 2007 grades to be posted.

Electronic transcripts are required from Grossmont College, Cuyuamaca College, San Diego Mesa College, Miramar College, City Colleges, or Southwestern Community College. Paper copies of transcripts from these community colleges will NOT be accepted.

For a transcript to be considered official, it must be sent electronically from the community college; or remain in its original sealed envelope. If opened, the transcript will no longer be valid. Request your transcripts as soon as possible, as it can sometimes take weeks for them to be sent to SDSU.

Official transcripts are required from all colleges you previously attended even if you withdrew from the course(s) or the course(s) were not applicable to your college major. Please also include transcripts for all International Baccalaureate Credit if applicable.

Instructions for Official High School Transcripts

Submit official transcripts in a sealed envelope from the high school you last attended. Foreign language courses completed in high school affect placement in foreign language courses in college.

Instructions for Advanced Placement (AP) Test Scores

Advanced Placement (AP) exam score reports with passing scores are required to obtain college credit for AP exam credit. Provide any available test results shortly after you submit your Intent to Enroll and other official documents. Send results for senior year AP courses separately by June 29, 2007. To obtain your AP test scores, write to the following address:

AP Exams
P.O. Box 6671
Princeton, NJ 08541-6671

Or call 609-771-7300, or toll-free 888-225-5427 if your exam scores were taken within the last four years.

Visit the College Board Web site for additional information.

For students admitted before June 15, 2007:

Final Official Transcripts – Due June 29, 2007

You must provide a separate final official transcript showing spring 2007 term grades by June 29, 2007. This final transcript is in addition to the preliminary transcript(s) that must be sent by May 1, 2007. For community colleges that do not supply electronic transcripts, the school should send the transcripts directly to:

Office of Admissions
San Diego State University
5500 Campanile Dr.
San Diego, CA 92182-7455

What if I don’t complete the Intent to Enroll and submit transcripts early?

If all of the items are not sent by May 1, 2007 (August 1, 2007 for late admits), it will be assumed that you do not plan to attend SDSU, and your space will be made available to another applicant.
