Fall 2008 Transfer Applicants*
(including readmit applicants)

The following information is provided for transfer and readmission applicants who have applied to San Diego State University for the fall 2008 semester.

Transfer Supplemental Application

After you receive your RedID from San Diego State University, your next step in the application process is to activate your WebPortal account and submit your online supplemental application by January 23, 2008. Your RedID will be e-mailed to you within a few days of applying to SDSU. To submit your supplemental application, go to your WebPortal account and click on the "Admission Status" menu option.

The supplemental application is a requirement for all SDSU upper division transfer applicants and upper division readmission applicants. You will need to refer to your transcripts when filling out the supplemental application. Be prepared in advance by collecting copies of all college transcripts.

If you have questions about the supplemental application, please call the Office of Admissions at (619) 594-6336. San Diego State University will be closed Monday, December 24 through December 27, and January 1. Questions during this period will be answered beginning January 2.

Frequently Asked Questions about the SDSU transfer admission and the supplemental application

SDSU receives thousands of applications during the filing period. Over the next few months, special attention will be given to reviewing each application. Notices of admission will be sent in February - March, 2008. If you are admitted, you will be asked to submit an Intent to Enroll $250 deposit and official copies of your transcripts with fall 2007 grades by May 1, 2008. You will also need to submit spring 2008 term grades separately by June 30, 2008.

In the meantime, there are steps you can take to make sure you have a smooth admissions experience.

  1. Review all of the information to the left before you are notified of SDSU's admission decision.
  2. Submit your supplemental application.
  3. Check your admission status periodically and keep your e-mail address updated.

Please note that you must maintain the grade point average reported on your application and complete all in-progress or planned courses with grades of "C" or higher (some impacted majors require grades higher than "C" in specific major preparation courses). If you receive a "D" or "F" during this academic year, or if your GPA drops below what you reported on your application, any offer of admission may be withdrawn.
