The following information is provided for transfer and readmission applicants who have applied to San Diego State University for the fall 2010 semester.
Transfer Supplemental Application After you submit your CSUMentor application to San Diego State University, your next step in the application process is to activate your WebPortal account and submit your online supplemental application by January 22, 2010. The supplemental application will be available in early December. Applicants will be notified via e-mail when it's online. You will need your RedID number to activate your WebPortal account. Your RedID will be e-mailed to you within two weeks of applying to SDSU. To submit your supplemental application, go to your WebPortal account and click on the "Admission Status" menu option. The supplemental application is a requirement for all SDSU upper division transfer applicants and upper division readmission applicants. You will need to refer to your transcripts when filling out the supplemental application. Be prepared in advance by collecting copies of all college transcripts. If you have questions about the supplemental application, please call the Office of Admissions at (619) 594-6336. Please note that due to mandatory state furloughs and holidays, the SDSU Office of Admissions will be closed October 2 and 16, November 11, 13 and 25-27, and December 21 - January 4. Questions during late December and early January will be answered beginning January 5. |
SDSU receives thousands of applications during the filing period. Over the next few months, special attention will be given to reviewing each application. Notices of admission will be sent in March 2010. If you are admitted, you will be asked to submit the online Intent to Enroll deposit and official transcripts with fall 2009 grades by May 1, 2010. You will also need to separately submit final official transcripts with spring 2010 term grades by June 30, 2010.
In the meantime, there are steps you can take to make sure you have a smooth admissions experience:
Transfer admission is based on a specific set of requirements including major GPA, preparation for major courses and impaction criteria. Transfer students are admitted based on their intended major for a bachelor's degree at SDSU. Thus the policy for admitted transfer students is they cannot change their major as applicants, or as admitted and enrolled students. This policy is enforced throughout the student's academic career at SDSU.
Please note that you must maintain the grade point average reported on your application and complete all in-progress or planned courses with grades of C or higher by the end of the spring 2010 term (some impacted majors require grades higher than C in specific major preparation courses). If you receive a D or F during this academic year, or if your GPA drops below what you reported on your application, your offer of admission will be withdrawn.
For information about the fall 2010 transfer admission requirements, including completion of 60 units, General Education, preparation for the major courses, and GPA, please review the transfer admission Web page.
