Thank you for choosing San Diego State University. For detailed admissions criteria, please select from the list below.

  • First-Time Freshmen: Students who have earned no college credit after the summer immediately following high school graduation.

  • Transfer: Students with more than 60 transferable semester units (90 quarter units) are considered upper-division transfers.

  • Readmission: Check here to view the readmission requirements for SDSU.

  • International: Students who are not United States citizens.

  • Graduate Student: Students who have completed a four-year degree and are pursuing a post baccalaureate degree.

  • Veterans: Military veteran, active duty military, or military dependent.

  • Second Bachelor's: Students who have completed a four-year degree and are pursuing another bachelor's degree.

  • Extended Studies: SDSU's College of Extended Studies offers a wide variety of lifelong learning classes, seminars and certificate programs.

  • Imperial Valley Campus: Students applying to the the Imperial Valley Campus (IVC), a two- year upper-division campus of SDSU located in Imperial County, which is 120 miles east of San Diego, 60 miles west of Yuma, Arizona, and 120 miles south of Palm Springs.
