Summer Step 1—Fulfill Testing Requirements
All California State University first-time freshmen must fulfill the Entry-Level Mathematics (ELM) and the English Placement Test (EPT) requirements. You must take the required ELM/EPT tests no later than the May 6, 2017 test date. If you do not take these tests, you will not be able to register for summer or fall classes.
Important dates and online registration for tests held at SDSU are available on the Student Testing, Assessment and Research website.
As explained in your admission letter, you are required to enroll in the FAST program in order to attend SDSU in the fall 2017 semester. However, if you clear your remediation requirements by July 1, you will not be required to attend the FAST program.
One way to clear the requirement is to pass the CSU English Placement Test (EPT) and/or Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) test prior to summer enrollment. A score of 147 or higher on the EPT and 50 or higher on the ELM is considered passing. Learn about other ways to clear the remediation requirement at www.sdsu.edu/collegeready.
We urge you to register for the EPT/ELM tests as soon as possible. Register and prepay your fees online through the ETS website.
The following EPT/ELM test dates are offered at SDSU during spring 2017. Please register early, spaces fill up quickly.
