How to Apply

First, follow the graduate steps to apply.

Then, submit to the department by February 1:

  1. Three letters of recommendation
  2. Submit a sample of creative work (15 poems or 30 pages of prose)
  3. Statement of Purpose (750-1000 words)
  4. Transcripts

Fall 2013 Deadline 

Step 1: CSUMentor Application—March 1*
Step 2 and 3: File Completion—April 1

*All department required materials must be submitted by the CSUMentor application deadline. All Graduate Admissions application materials must be submitted by the file completion deadline.

Spring Deadline

Domestic Applicants: Closed
