How to Apply

First, follow the graduate steps to apply.

Then, submit to the department by December 15:

  1. Three letters of recommendation
  2. Submit a 750–1000 word statement of purpose
  3. Submit a 10-page writing sample from a previous literature course, preferably an analytical essay involving research
  4. Transcripts

Fall 2013 Deadline   

Step 1: CSUMentor Application—December 15*
Step 2 and 3: File Completion—January 10

*All department required materials must be submitted by the CSUMentor application deadline. All Graduate Admissions application materials must be submitted by the file completion deadline.

Spring Deadline

Domestic Applicants: Closed
International Applicants: Closed
