Impacted Programs

Child Development

Students must enter the university under the child development premajor code (08230). To be admitted to the child development major, students must meet the following criteria:

a. Complete with a grade of C or higher: Child and Family Development 135, 270, 270L (1 unit), 272, 275; Biology 100; Psychology 101; Sociology 101; and Psychology 270 and 271 (or Sociology 201). These courses cannot be taken for Credit/No Credit (Cr/NC);

b. Complete a minimum of 60 transferable semester units;

c. Have a cumulative GPA and SDSU GPA of 2.40 or higher; and

d. To gain entry into the major, students must fulfill the premajor requirements described in the General Catalog in effect at the time they declare the premajor at SDSU (assuming continuous enrollment).

To complete the major, students must fulfill the degree requirements for the major described in the General Catalog in effect at the time they are accepted into the premajor at SDSU (assuming continuous enrollment).
