Impacted Programs

Economics

Students must enter the university under the economics premajor code (22040). To be admitted to the economics major, students must meet the following criteria:

a. Complete with a grade of C or higher: Economics 101, 102; Economics 201 or Statistics 119 or Statistics 250; Information and Decision Systems 180 and 2 units from Social Science 201A, 201B, 201D. These courses cannot be taken for Credit/No Credit (Cr/NC) unless only offered for Cr/NC.

b. Complete a minimum of 33 transferable semester units;

c. Have a cumulative GPA and SDSU GPA of 2.40 or higher;

d. To be admitted to the emphasis in international economics (major code 22040), students must, in addition to satisfying the criteria in parts a, b, and c above, also satisfy the foreign language requirement for the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Science; and

e. To gain entry into the major, students must fulfill the premajor requirements described in the General Catalog in effect at the time they declare the premajor at SDSU (assuming continuous enrollment).

To complete the major, students must fulfill the degree requirements for the major described in the General Catalog in effect at the time they are accepted into the premajor at SDSU (assuming continuous enrollment).
