International Tuition and Fees

Paying for Your Education

All international students who are admitted to San Diego State University are required to submit financial documentation (within the past six months) to provide evidence of funding for a minimum of one academic year. Applicants must submit a Financial Statement Form and supporting financial documentation to the SDSU Office of Admissions in order to be issued the I-20, needed for the student visa application.

Supporting documents can be one, or a combination of, the following:

  1. Applicant’s Personal Funds
  2. Funds from a Sponsor (Parent, Relative, or private)
  3. Government Sponsor
  4. Funds from SDSU

Tuition and Fees: Undergraduate

Estimated minimum costs required to attend SDSU full time for the 2013 – 2014 academic year (9 months):

* Nonresident tuition fee of $372 per unit is based on the required registration of 12 units each semester.

** Cost is based on the SDSU requirement that all freshmen are required to live on campus for their first year. Review the on-campus food and housing options at www.sdsu.edu/housing. Total cost and payments will vary depending on the meal plan and room type you request. The cost indicated above is for a single room and 7 day weekly meal plan.

***Based on one academic year of Ascension student health insurance.

**** For undergraduates, the average annual cost of books and supplies is $1,746, transportation is $1,407.

The cost indicated above is for a single room and 7 day weekly meal plan. Graduate students typically live off-campus where costs of housing are lower and vary upon type of apartment.
