Step 2—Create an SDSU WebPortal Account
Within two weeks, you will receive an email from SDSU prompting you to create a WebPortal Account. As an applicant to SDSU, you will use your WebPortal account to check the status of your application, using your RedID number. You must have a valid email address to create your WebPortal account.
- Go to www.sdsu.edu/portal
- Enter your RedID number as the user name.
- In the password field, enter your date of birth (MMDDYY). For example, if you were born on October 24, 1996, your password is 102496.
- A temporary password will be sent to your email account.
You must create a more secure, permanent password. Please note that your permanent password must contain a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols.
Note: When you are asked to enter a Social Security Number (SSN), re-enter your RED ID number in this field. If you need additional assistance in activating your WebPortal account, please call SDSU’s Office of the Registrar.
