Admissions

Step 1—Start Intent to Enroll Process

Accept Your Offer of Admission by Submitting your Intent to Enroll—Due May 1, 2017

Reserve your place in the fall 2017 class by submitting all of the following items to the SDSU Office of Admissions no later than Monday, May 1, 2017. If all of the items are not postmarked by May 1, it will be assumed that you do not plan to attend SDSU and your admission will be canceled.

  1. Submit the online Intent to Enroll $400 nonrefundable deposit in your SDSU WebPortal. The deposit can be paid electronically through the SDSU WebPortal. This deposit will apply toward your fall basic tuition and fees.
  2. Send official copies of the following transcripts:
    • Transcripts from all colleges you attended as soon as possible (including fall 2016 grades). SDSU will accept only electronic transcripts from the schools listed on the Transcripts page. Please ensure that you indicate this preference when making your request.
    • Transcripts for all International Baccalaureate credit (if applicable).
    • SDSU will not accept hand-carried transcripts delivered in person. Transcripts must be sent directly from your college to the SDSU Office of Admissions.
For schools not on SDSU's electronic transcript list, have transcripts mailed to:
    Office of Admissions
    San Diego State University
    5500 Campanile Drive
    San Diego, CA 92182-7455
  3. Send official copies of Advanced Placement exam score reports. These should be sent electronically to SDSU, if applicable.

Final Official Transcripts—Due June 30, 2017

You must provide a separate final official transcript showing spring 2017 term grades by June 30, 2017. This final transcript is in addition to the preliminary transcript(s) that must be sent by May 1, 2017.

Keep Your Grades Up!

Admission is based on self-reported information from your CSUMentor and supplemental applications. Once you are provisionally admitted, we will verify this information against your official transcript(s). Please make sure to report accurate information.

Your admission may be rescinded for reasons such as the following:

  • Your GPA or course grades are lower than what you reported on the application
  • You miss any admission deadlines
  • You earn D or F grades
  • You misreported or did not complete a required course

Transcript and Test Score Instructions

Official College Transcripts

Official transcripts are required from all colleges you previously and/or currently attend even if you withdrew from the course(s) or the course(s) is not applicable to your degree. Please also include transcripts for all International Baccalaureate credit and Advanced Placement exam credit (if applicable). You must send official transcripts (including fall 2016 grades) for all schools by May 1, 2017. Do not wait for spring 2017 grades to be posted—you will send final transcripts later.

You must request official transcripts be sent directly to the SDSU Office of Admissions either electronically or in a sealed envelope. For a transcript to be considered official, it must remain in its original sealed envelope and be issued within the last six months. If opened, the transcript will no longer be valid. Please request your transcripts as soon as grades are posted so that the transcripts will arrive by the deadlines. (Note that it can take several weeks for a school to send a transcript once it is ordered.)

Electronic Transcripts
SDSU will accept only electronic transcripts from the schools listed here. Please ensure that you indicate this preference when making your request.

For schools not on SDSU's electronic transcript list, have official transcripts mailed to:

Office of Admissions
San Diego State University
5500 Campanile Drive
San Diego, CA 92182-7455
