Seeing an Adviser

There are four types of advisers at SDSU, including Academic Advising Center advisers, major/faculty advisers, EOP advisers, and pre-professional advisers.

Major/faculty advisers for each major are available to help you plan your upper division course schedule, and provide you with advice about career options and graduate school. The Directory of Advisers provides a list of major advisers, pre-professional advisers, Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) advisers, and Athletics advisers.

Nine Graduation Requirements

You must fulfill nine graduation requirements, prior to obtaining your undergraduate degree at SDSU. These include:

  1. Freshmen Competency Requirements (Mathematics and Writing)
  2. Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement (Writing Proficiency Assessment)
  3. Major and Minor Requirements
  4. American Institutions
  5. Language Requirement
  6. Unit Requirements
  7. Residence Requirements
  8. Grade Point Average
  9. General Education

Your Degree Evaluation

Graduation Application

The Office of the Registrar provides instructions on how and when to apply, concurrent graduate credit, graduation with honors, commencement, and diplomas.
