Fall Semester 2013

	May 1	Personal registration information available in the SDSU WebPortal.
	May 10	Basic Tuition and Fee payments accepted for registration.
	June 1	New Graduate Student Orientation available (online).
	June 29	Final day for submitting theses to Aztec Shops Montezuma Publishing for thesis review to ensure graduation in August 2013.
	July 1	Applications available for May and August 2014 graduation with a bachelor's degree and with an advanced degree.
	July 5–August 16	Theses may be submitted to the Division of Graduate Affairs after this date on an at-risk basis. However, August 2013 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by noon, August 15. Students missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.
	July 19–August 6	New Student Orientation for freshmen and parents (held at SDSU).
	July 18	Fall 2013 registration begins.
	August 7–15	New Student Orientation for transfer students and parents (held at SDSU).
	August 14	Final day for depositing approved theses at Aztec Shops Montezuma Publishing. (Noon deadline.)
	August 16	Last day for submitting theses for review to Aztec Shops Montezuma Publishing for the current term. (Noon deadline.)
	August 19	First day of fall semester.
	August 22	Faculty and Staff Convocation.
	August 22	Last day of registration before classes begin.
	August 23	Last day to officially withdraw for fall semester and receive a full refund (less administrative fee if applicable).
	August 23	Last day for nonresident (foreign and out-of-state) students to pay deferred tuition and not incur service charges.
	Aug. 23–Aug. 31	Welcome Week.
	August 24	New Student and Family Convocation.
	August 26	FIRST DAY OF CLASSES.
	September 2	Holiday—Labor Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
	September 5	Last day for faculty to drop students from classes.
	September 9	Schedule adjustment deadline. Last day to add, drop, or change grading basis (11:59 p.m. deadline.)
	September 9	Last day for payment of fees for late registration. (3:30 p.m. deadline.)
	September 9	Last day to officially withdraw from the university without penalty fee for fall semester 2013. Withdrawal after September 9 requires petition for serious and compelling reason.
	September 11	Last day to apply for December 2013 graduation with a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
	September 11	Last day to file petition for concurrent master’s degree credit for fall semester 2013.
	September 20–21	Family Weekend.
	September 23	Census.
	October 1	Applications for admission or readmission to San Diego State University for the fall semester 2014 accepted. Undergraduate applications are NOT accepted after November 30 (postmarked). Graduate applicants should consult Graduate Admissions for closing dates.
	October 30	Last day to officially withdraw from all classes for fall 2013 and receive a prorated refund (withdrawal after September 9 requires special approval and a penalty fee is assessed).
	November 1	Final day for submitting theses (without risk) to Aztec Shops Montezuma Publishing for thesis review to ensure graduation in December 2013.
	Nov. 4–Dec. 31	Theses may be submitted to the Montezuma Publishing on an at-risk basis. However, December 2013 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by noon on December 20. Students missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.
	November 11	Holiday—Veterans Day. Faculty/Staff holiday. Campus closed.
	November 22	Last day for submission of incomplete and RP grade removals (excluding thesis) for December 2013 graduation with an advanced degree.
	November 28-29	Holiday—Thanksgiving recess. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
	December 6	Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the Division of Graduate Affairs by department or college.
	December 11	Last day of classes before final examinations.
	December 12-18	Final examinations.
	December 20	Final day for depositing approved theses at Aztec Shops Montezuma Publishing. (Noon deadline.)
	December 24–27	Holiday—Winter recess. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
	December 30 & 31	Campus open. No classes.
	December 31	Last day to apply for a leave of absence for fall semester 2013.
	December 31	Grades due from instructors. (11 p.m. deadline.)
	December 31	Last day for submitting theses for review to Aztec Shops Montezuma Publishing for the current term. (Noon deadline.)
	December 31	Last day of fall semester.
	January 1, 2014	Holiday—New Year's Day. Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
