Spring Semester 2010

  January 5 Spring 2010 registration begins.
  January 14
Last day of registration before classes begin.
  January 18
Holiday— Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  January 19 First day of spring semester.
  January 19 Last day to officially withdraw for the spring 2010 semester and receive a full refund.
  January 19 - 20
Faculty/staff advising.
  January 19 Last day for nonresident (foreign and out-of-state) students to pay deferred tuition and not incur service charges.
  January 20
FIRST DAY OF CLASSES.
  Jan 20 - Feb. 4 Fee payments accepted for late registration. Last opportunity to pay late registration fees is 4 p.m. on February 4.
  February 1 Applications for bachelor’s degree for December 2010 graduation accepted.
  February 2
Last day to drop classes. No drops allowed after 6 p.m. on this date.
  February 4
Last day to add classes or change grading basis. No schedule adjustments allowed after 6 p.m. on this date.
  February 4
Last day to officially withdraw from the university without penalty fee for spring semester 2010.
  February 4
Last day for payment of fees for late registration. (4 p.m. deadline.)
  February 9
Last day to file application for bachelor’s degree for May and August 2010 graduation.
  February 9
Last day to apply for May 2010 graduation with an advanced degree, Division of Graduate Affairs.
  February 9
Last day to file petition for concurrent master’s degree credit for spring semester 2010.
  February 16 Census.

Last day of classes before spring recess.

Classes resume.
  April 5 Last day to officially withdraw from all classes for spring 2010 and receive a prorated refund (withdrawal after February 9 requires special approval and a penalty fee is assessed).
  April 5 Final day for submitting theses to the Division of Graduate Affairs for thesis review to ensure graduation in May 2010. Joint university deadlines apply when submitting approved doctoral dissertations to the Division of Graduate Affairs for May commencement.
  April 6 - May 5 Theses may be submitted to the Division of Graduate Affairs after this date on an at-risk basis. However, May 2010 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by noon, May 20. Students missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.
  April 30 Last day for submission of incomplete and RP grade removals (excluding thesis) for May 2010 graduation with an advanced degree.
  May 12 Last day of classes before final examinations.
  May 13 - 20 Final examinations.
  May 14 Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the Division of Graduate Affairs by department or college.
  May 20 Final day for depositing approved theses at Aztec Shops Montezuma Publishing. (Noon deadline.)
  May 21 - 23 Commencement.
  May 25 Grades due from instructors. (11 p.m. deadline.)
  May 25 Last day to apply for a leave of absence for spring semester 2010.
  May 25 Final day to submit thesis to the Division of Graduate Affairs without having to enroll in Thesis 799B the following semester. (Noon deadline.)
  May 25 Last day of spring semester.

SUMMER TERM 2010
NOTE: Final summer session dates to be determined.

  May 28 Last day to apply for August 2010 graduation with an advanced degree, Division of Graduate Affairs.
  May 31 Holiday— Memorial Day.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  July 1
Applications for bachelor’s degree for May and August 2011 graduation accepted.
  July 1 Final day for submitting theses to the Division of Graduate Affairs for thesis review to ensure graduation in August 2010.
  July 4 Holiday— Independence Day.
  July 5
Holiday— Independence Day observed.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  July 6 - Aug. 20 Theses may be submitted to the Division of Graduate Affairs after this date on an at-risk basis. However, August 2010 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by noon, August 18.
