Spring Semester 2014

  Dec. 2, 2013 Spring 2014 basic tuition and fee payments accepted.
  January 7 Spring 2014 registration begins.
  January 16
Last day for nonresident (foreign and out-of-state) students to pay deferred tuition and not incur service charges.
  January 17 First day of spring semester.
  January 17 Last day to officially withdraw for the spring 2014 semester and receive a full refund.
  January 17–18 Faculty/staff advising.
  Jan. 21–Feb. 4
Fee payments accepted for late registration. Last opportunity to pay late basic tuition and fees is 3:30 p.m. on February 4.
  January 20
Last day of registration before classes begin.
  January 20 Holiday—Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  January 22
FIRST DAY OF CLASSES.
  January 31 Last day for faculty to drop students from classes.
  February 1 Applications accepted for bachelor’s degree or advanced degree for December 2014 graduation.
  February 4
Last day to officially withdraw from the university without penalty fee for spring semester 2014.
  February 4
Schedule adjustment deadline. Last day to add, drop, or change grading basis (11:59 p.m. deadline.)
  February 4
Last day for payment of fees for late registration. (3:30 p.m. deadline.)
  February 4
Last day to file application for bachelor’s degree or advanced degree for May and August 2014 graduation.
  February 4
Last day to file petition for concurrent master’s degree credit for spring semester 2014.
  February 18 Census.
  March 21 NCAA Tournament. No classes. Campus open.
  March 25 Last day to officially withdraw from all classes for spring 2014 and receive a prorated refund (withdrawal after February 4 requires special approval and a penalty fee is assessed).
  March 28
Last day of classes before spring recess.
  March 31 Holiday—Cesar Chavez Day.
Faculty/staff holiday. Campus closed.
  March 31-April 4
Spring recess.
  April 7 Classes resume.
  April 11
Final day for submitting thesis (without risk) to Montezuma Publishing for thesis review to ensure graduation in May 2014.
  April 14–May 20 Theses may be submitted to Montezuma Publishing on an at-risk basis. However, May 2014 graduation is contingent upon completion of final processing by 12 noon, May 16. Students missing this deadline will be required to reapply for graduation for the term in which they expect to graduate.
  April 25 Last day for submission of incomplete and RP grade removals (excluding thesis) for May 2014 graduation with an advanced degree.
  May 8 Last day of classes before final examinations.
  May 8 Last day for reporting results on comprehensive examinations to the Division of Graduate Affairs by department or college.
  May 9–15 Final examinations.
  May 15 Commencement, Imperial Valley Campus.
  May 16 Thesis review process, including publishing, must be completed by 12 noon on this date at Montezuma Publishing to meet graduation requirement.
  May 16–18 Commencement, main campus.
  May 20 Grades due from instructors. (11 p.m. deadline.)
  May 20 Last day to apply for a leave of absence for spring semester 2014.
  May 20 Final day to submit thesis to Montezuma Publishing without having to enroll in Thesis 799B the following semester. (Noon deadline.)
  May 20 Last day of spring semester.
