Prospective Student Services (PSS) staff provide pre-enrollment information on admission criteria, application procedures, financial aid, housing and residential life, general academic information, the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and more to prospective and admitted students.

Additionally, we operate the Prospective Student Center, which oversees campus family and group tours, SDSU At A Glance events, and answers e-mail and telephone inquiries.

Prospective Student Services Staff

PSS staff are professional employees of San Diego State University who coordinate University recruitment events and programs, recruitment with local community colleges and relations with school counselors. They schedule and conduct presentations to students at community colleges, attend college fairs, and conduct special programs, such as parent programs and application workshops. Staff are also responsible for planning and conducting events, including counselor conferences and Explore SDSU Open House for prospective and admitted students.

Student Recruitment Assistants

The Student Recruitment Assistants (SRAs) are a small group of qualified and experienced upper-class students who assist SROs and are assigned to a specific region within San Diego County. They schedule and conduct presentations to high school students, attend college fairs, and conduct special programs, such as application workshops and AVID presentations. During these visits, they assist prospective students with the application process, and more importantly, they offer their advice and encouragement to prepare students for success during and after their college experience. SRAs are also key individuals in executing successful recruitment events on the SDSU campus.
