Adam DeJong
U.S Marine Corps veteran and SDSU kinesiology major Adam DeJong will complete his degree in fall 2011. A native of Perth, Western Australia, DeJong began his marine service in 2004. He served in three overseas deployments, two of which were in support of OIF with the 3rd BN 5th Marines.
Honorably discharged after five years, this Dean’s list student is actively involved with the Student Veteran Organization and plays on SDSU’s Division I rugby team.

Jessica Killian
U.S. Navy veteran and SDSU public administration pre-major, Jessica Killian will graduate in May 2012. She was raised in Portland, Oregon, and joined the Navy after her high school graduation in June 2004. Killian was stationed in San Diego from 2004-2009, where she served on aviation squadrons at NASNI and on U.S.S. Peleliu at the 32nd Street Naval Base.
Before she received her honorable discharge, Killian was an aeronautical welder and aviation mechanic who worked on specific aircraft. In 2008, she was deployed on the U.S.S. Peleliu for seven months and visited many countries, including Australia, Bahrain, Dubai, Jordan, and Singapore.

Jose G. Velascosoltero
U.S Navy veteran and SDSU master's in public health candidate Jose Velascosoltero was raised in La Cienega, Jalisco, Mexico. He began his service with the Navy in 2001 and served more than seven years overseas with different commands, including the 3rd Medical Battalion, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and the USS Blue Ridge.
Velascosoltero is actively involved in SDSU student organizations. His involvements include the Student Veteran Organization, the Hispanic Business Student Association, and Golden Key Honor Society, among many others.
