International Cost of Attendance

Admitted international students planning to attend San Diego State University with an F-1 student visa must submit financial documents providing evidence of funding for a minimum of one academic year. The required financial documents include the SDSU Financial Statement Form, a supporting financial document, and a passport copy. An SDSU I-20 will only be issued after these documents are received and approved by the SDSU Office of Admissions.

Note: Students with other visa categories, permanent residency or U.S. citizenship do not need to submit financial documentation.

Estimated Undergraduate Costs of Attendance

Costs of attendance are subject to change by the Trustees of the California State University without prior notice. The amounts indicated are the estimated minimum costs required to attend SDSU full time for the 2018–19 academic year (9 months):

**All first year freshmen from outside of SDSU's local admission area are required to live on campus for two years. Total cost and payments vary depending on the meal plan and room type. The cost listed for a first year freshman is based on on-campus housing. The cost listed for an upper-division transfer is based on a student living off campus.

****For freshmen, the average annual cost of books and supplies is $1,915, transportation is $1,544. For upper-division transfers, the average annual cost of books and supplies is $1,915, transportation is $1,982.

Cost of Attendance Note

The CSU makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after fees are initially charged or initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees. All listed fees, other than mandatory system wide fees, are subject to change without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor, or the Presidents, as appropriate. Changes in mandatory system wide fees will be made in accordance with the requirements of the Working Families Student Fee Transparency and Accountability Act (Sections 66028-66028.6 of the Education Code)
