Advising and Evaluations, International Freshman Registration Guide

Step 2: Pay Your Basic Tuition and Fees

The next step to completing your registration is payment of your basic tuition and fees. Fees must be paid by the fee payment deadline listed under Fee Payment Information on the My Registration page. You will not be allowed to register for classes until your basic tuition and fees are paid. When you select Pay Fees Online in the Tuition and Fees section, you will be directed to the CASHNet™ SmartPay website.

If you are funded by your Cultural Mission, you must provide a financial guarantee letter to SDSU’s Student Account Services by your registration date and time. Financial guarantee letters should be emailed to mmclaug@mail.sdsu.edu.

In addition to basic tuition and fees, international students are charged a per unit non-resident tuition fee for all units attempted. In CASHNet you may elect to pay for the nonresident tuition at the same time as your basic tuition and fees. Paying at the same time requires you to estimate the total credits you plan to enroll for the semester. You can choose to pay your non-resident fees after you enroll in courses. However, non-resident tuition must be paid prior to the first day of classes to avoid any service or late charges.

Students paying in foreign currencies should use the IFT option through the Online Student Account. Payments in foreign currencies are made through Western Union and are automatically posted to your student account once received. Wire transfers through Western Union offer favorable exchange rates and eliminate bank fees typically charged for wire transfers.
