General Studies 250
General Studies 250 is a one-unit, low-stress class that is an introduction to university success. The class is primarily for military-connected students (active duty, veterans, military families and ROTC members) and is taken as C/NC. Non military-affiliated students are permitted to enroll in the class, however priority is given to military students.
The purpose of this class is to introduce military-affiliated personnel who are new students (new to college or new to a university) to a network of current students and staff who can assist them in learning about the academic culture, campus resources, and student services/activities available at SDSU. Classes may include instruction on essay writing for scholarships, conducting effective library research, enrolling with disability services, studying effectively for the WPA, career services resources as well as learning time management, test taking and study skills. Students who actively participate in this class can expect to have an easier transition to the university and greater success in the academic environment and campus community.
The class is offered on Monday and Tuesday. Student should select one of the two convenings; Monday (Schedule #21710) from 1200-1250 or Tuesday (Schedule #21711) from 1230-1320.
