Meet Current Student Veterans
Meet SDSU students that are serving their country as U.S. military personnel or veterans.
Salomon has been a work-study at the Student Veterans House since Spring 2014. He served in the United States Army from 2009 to 2013 as an Intelligence Analyst for the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd BCT, 10th Mountain Division. He deployed with the unit for a year in support of OEF XI-XII. Immediately following his time in the United States Army, he began his studies in the Spring of 2013, pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. After graduation, Salomon plans on working in the private sector before returning to school to pursue higher degrees to complete his overall goal of becoming a professor.
Originally from Oregon and served in the Active Duty Airforce from 2007 to 2013 as a Knowledge Operations Manager; Andrew attained the rank of Staff Sergeant before transitioning into civilian community. Currently serves in the Air Force Reserves as a Knowledge Operations Manager at March AFB.
Andrew began attending SDSU in Fall 2015 and is currently pursuing a major in Public Health. He also participates in the Volunteer program at Alvarado Hospital. Following his education he intends to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant.
Adrian served in the United States Army from 2011 to 2014 as an Intelligence Signals Analyst. Adrian served within U.S. Army Europe under the 709th MI BN stationed in England. As an enlisted Soldier, Adrian supported NSA and intelligence community missions around the globe. Upon reaching the rank of Specialist, Adrian was awarded a 4-year Green to Gold scholarship to SDSU and SDSU ROTC in order to commission as an Officer within the Army. Born in Los Angeles, Adrian has lived in Chula Vista, CA for over 20 years and is currently pursuing a bachelorís degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution. Adrian is an active participant in SDSUís Army ROTC program and will commission as a 2LT in May 2017. He intends on using his education and experience to complete a successful military career before pursuing goals of working for NSA or CIA after military retirement. Adrian currently works at the Student Veteran House where he provides support to veterans and dependents from all branches of the military.
Diana, originally from San Diego, served in the United States Army from 2010 to 2013 as an Automated Logistical Specialist. Her first assignment was in South Korea and the remainder of her term was served in Colorado. She transferred to San Diego State University in the fall of 2015 and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in History; she was included in the College and Deanís List for the fall 2015 semester. Her goal is to manage a non-profit organization where she can encourage and help underprivileged youth attend college.
