How to Apply

First, follow the graduate steps to apply.

Then, submit the following to the Graduate Program Administrative Assistant by February 1:

  1. Geography department application (download and print PDF)
  2. Copies of transcripts from all colleges and universities attended (these do not need to be sent directly from the colleges—photocopies are acceptable)
  3. Copies of GRE (and if appliable, TOEFL) test scores (photocopies are acceptable)
  4. A statement of your geographic interests and professional goals, and the names of SDSU and UCSB Geography faculty who would be suitable program advisors
  5. A current resume or curriculum vitae
  6. Three letters of recommendation

    The above materials should be sent to:

Fall 2013 Deadline   

Step 1: CSUMentor Application—March 1*
Step 2 and 3: File Completion—April 1*

*Priority will be given to those who submit all required SDSU Graduate application documents by the February 1 program application deadline. Please see the department Website for details.
