How to Apply

First, follow the graduate steps to apply.

Then, submit to the department:

  1. Biology Department Application form
  2. At least three letters of recommendation in sealed and signed envelopes
  3. Personal statement (1–3 pages in length). Note: This statement is a separate requirement from the statement submitted on the CSUMentor application.
  4. Resume
  5. An optional application for positions as teaching assistants and graduate assistants

Departmental forms and detailed application instructions can be found on the Biology website. Please read all instructions carefully.

Fall 2013 Deadline   

Step 1: CSUMentor Application—March 1*
Step 2 and 3: File Completion—April 1*

*All application materials must be submitted to Graduate Admissions and to the departmnet by February 1 to receive priority consideration for admission. Review of completed applications will begin shortly after this date and admissions decisions will be made until all spaces are filled.
