About TOEFL and IELTS

If, at the time of the TOEFL examination, you did not specify SDSU as an institution to receive your test results, you may contact the Educational Testing Service (ETS) by calling (609) 771-7267 to have the scores forwarded to SDSU (Institution code: 4682). ETS charges a fee for the additional request. The minimum required score for admission is 80 for internet TOEFL.

Contact IELTS at ielts@ieltsintl.org for instructions on having your scores sent to SDSU. A minimum overall score of 6.5 is required.

Note: The English proficiency requirement does not apply to applicants transferring from a U.S. community college or university who have completed a minimum of 60 semester units (90 quarter units) in general education coursework, AND 2 years of study at a U.S. institution.
