The Office of Advising and Evaluations is a critical component in a collaborative network of campus resources. Our highly skilled and experienced advisers provide academic advising in General Education and Graduation requirements as well as clarify University academic policy and procedure. We implement the Student Success goals outlined in the University’s Strategic Plan by advising our diverse undergraduate population. We educate and empower students to become self-advocates for their educational and professional goals.
In a stable and consistent environment, we enrich the development of academic advising for faculty, staff and peer advisers. We train and support advisers in the effective use of academic advising tools at San Diego State University. The staff in the Office of Advising & Evaluations build relationships with campus advisers and administrators in order to improve student retention, facilitate graduation, and confer all undergraduate degrees.
