APPLY TO GRADUATE

Commencement ceremonies are held once a year at the end of the spring semester for students who graduated in December of the previous year, and candidates for graduation in May and August of the current year.

APPLY ONLINE

Enrolled students must apply online through the SDSU WebPortal by clicking the "Apply to Graduate" menu option. The application filing periods are as follows:

Semester Graduating Application Filing Period
December 2014 February 1, 2014–September 8, 2014
UNDERGRADUATE AND SECOND BACHELOR'S DEGREE STUDENTS

What happens after I apply?

After you have submitted your application with a nonrefundable $55 filing fee, a degree evaluation will be prepared and mailed to you in approximately eight weeks. This evaluation will list all requirements you must complete prior to graduation, as well as the name and contact information for your graduation adviser. This adviser will be your point-of-contact throughout the graduation process.

Remember that your student account must be settled and cleared with the university before your application for graduation will be processed. This includes any outstanding bills such as parking, tuition, library fines, etc. Check with SDSU Student Account Services if you have questions regarding the status of your student account.

See the Frequently Asked Questions for more information.

Trouble applying online?

If you are an undergraduate or second bachelor's degree student and you are unable to apply online, you may apply in person. Type and print a graduation application form (below) for the term you anticipate completing all degree requirements. Applications MUST be typed. Handwritten applications will NOT be accepted.
